SCYFOOD > Whisky Macallan 10 Year Old Whisky Live 10th Anniversary Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher. The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. A special bottling of 10 year old Macallan to celebrate 10 years of Whisky Live. 70cl/57,9%
