SCYFOOD > Whisky Dalmore 1967 Sirius 44 Year Old Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY In 1263, Colin of Kintail, Chief of the clan Mackenzie, saved King Alexander III of Scotland from a charging stag. As a reward the grateful King granted Colin of Kintail the lands of Eilean Donan and the right to use the 12-pointed Royal Stag as the Mackenzie clan crest. The distillery was founded in 1839 by entrepreneur Alexander Matheson, who after 28 years decided it was time to pass on the distillery to Andrew and Charles of the Mackenzie clan, the distillery remained family-owned until 1960 when one of Dalmore's main customers, Whyte & Mackay, took control and continue down that path as pioneers of exquisite cask curation, resulting in a whisky of legendary depth. A single cask, this was bottled by Sirius Whisky Purveyors. It was distilled in 1967 and then filled into cask number #2055 on February 24th. 700ml/64,3%
