SCYFOOD > Whisky Macallan Masters of Photography Elliott Erwitt Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher. The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. The 4th release of the Masters of Photography consisted of 58 unique aingle cask whiskies, paired with different Elliott Erwitt prints. There were 35 pairings available making this a global release of 2030 bottles. 35cl/58,4%
