SCYFOOD > Bordeaux Chateau Lascombes Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY For many years, it was considered unworthy of the second growth classification, as its quality had not improved since its 1855 Médoc classification, contrary to its reputation. In 2001, an American investment firm purchased the property, and from there it quickly began to produce excellent wines. Several renowned consultants, including Dr. Reynaud (owner of Château Quinault Lanclos) and Michel Rolland, were brought in to thoroughly improve the château. The production volume, in particular, is now 1/3 of what it was before the change, and you can see that high quality wines are being produced. The terroir of the vineyards that were originally owned was also good, and the wines have now been brilliantly transformed into modern, flamboyant wines that are worthy of the second growth status. 75cl x 12
