Why? Because Nikka, being as stubborn as they are, refuse to stop using their Coffey stills. Although these stills are not nearly as efficient as modern stills, as they take much longer to operate, and are much more complex to use, the scent that they leave is much stronger than that of modern stills. Add a little wood and mellowness, and we have a winner. Please note : this is an old bottle and the closure may have deteriorated, care should be taken when it is being opened.
