SCYFOOD > Whisky New Filling Malt Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY New-make. Bottled 1988 by R.W. Duthie & Co., Aberdeen. Imported by Samaroli s.r.l., Brescia. Bottle number 306 of 648. Good label, bin-soiled label. Level: top shoulder. - "...very farmy, peaty, grassy... Much less sweet that any new make from Islay, for instance. Really interesting. Mouth: sweeter but very nicely balanced – incredibly balanced in fact. This one is almost a bottle aged malt and sure it doesn't really taste like new make..." (4 Stars-Whiskyfun) Freshly distilled whisky was traditionally drunken in a causal way by distillers particularly new staffs of the distillery to know their works. This spirits is not legitimately called Scotch if it has not been matured for minimum 3 years and is neither technically a malt whiskey without 8 years in barrel. But this new-make shows good character and ready to be esterified in suitable oak barrels.
